The Factual Form Division |
|
The Factual Form is the division of Film Formations dedicated to the production of factual programming. These include productions for both discerning adults as well as demanding children. The Factual Form was set up in August 2007 to address the rapid increase in competition and the growing needs of the media market. More and more, production houses are associated with making programmes of a particular genre, even if they can be proficient in more than one. This is a unique (albeit a happy) situation that Film Formations finds itself in. Film Formations is known in the industry for its high-profile drama series like "Chase", "Restless", and edgy award-winning anthologies like "The Singapore Short Story Project" and "AlterAsians". In addition, the company has been producing many quality factual programmes since its inception in 1998. And winning accolades for them. These include the 'Most Innovative Documentary' title awarded by National Geographic at the Showreal Asia Awards for "Tokyo Shock Boys' Guide To Japan", the Gold World Medal given by the New York Festivals for "The Big Q" and runner-up in the 'Best Children's Programming' category at the Asian Television Awards for "Our Pink Friends".
In 2006, Film Formations also started producing high-end current affairs series for Channel News Asia International, including "Face To Face", which was partly shot in war-torn Beirut. Currently in production under The Factual Form Division are "Warring Frontiers", an 8-part documentary series which takes our crew to 8 different Asian countries with past conflicts, as well as "Countdown To 888" now shooting in China. The division employs a specialised group of researchers, writers and directors experienced in producing the factual genre. All current productions are shot in High Definition format. It is the objective of The Factual Form to create a strong and separate branding for Film Formations' factual productions.
