Film Formations is one of Singapore's leading independent production houses, having produced quality programming over the last nine years and garnered numerous awards for their work. Since commencing operations on 1 February 1998, Film Formations has gained the confidence of many valuable terrestrial and satellite broadcasters. With a full compliment of creative personnel in various aspects of above-the-line services, and supported by a High Definition-capable post-production unit, we have been diligently providing turn-key services for our media partners. The staff of Film Formations are no newcomers to the industry. Together, we have more than half a century of collective experience in the field of film and video production. We pride ourselves as a cohesive production team that has worked together for close to a decade now. This makes us unique as we can continually build upon our creative and artistic integrity. We draw strength from the synergy of the skills of various individuals. Our approach to work is governed by a set of five production principles, which we believe will help us bring your production to life in new and exciting ways. We have a wealth of ideas and we breathe life into yours. Our strong foundation in production expertise is your assurance for a quality production. So far, Film Formations has garnered more than 10 regional and international accolades, epitomising the high standards of our creative skills. And these accolades do not just cover one specific genre of programming. Film Formations is perhaps the only Singapore-based production house to have been able to successfully traverse various programme genres, ranging from drama series to documentaries to children’s programmes. Our partner's confidence in our skills is further reinforced by other ground-breaking projects. In 2005, Film Formations' Director of Development and Production Lee Thean-jeen was selected to sit in the inaugural Documentary Director's Chair. This initiative by Discovery Networks Asia and the Media Development Authority of Singapore required the overseeing of factual programming for broadcast over Discovery Channels with Thean-jeen helming the project. The result was "Gourmet China: A Living Legacy," a one-hour documentary exploring the regional cuisine of China from a historical / sociological perspective. In 2007, Film Formations was engaged to execute the first Singapore-France co-production. Four episodes of the French 26-parter, "Deja Vu" was shot in Singapore. And Film Formations provided full production expertise from directing and producing to post-producing these episodes. Having established a firm track record as a quality production house in Singapore, Film Formations has its sights set on the international arena. It is Film Formations' vision to position ourselves as the preferred Asian production house for anyone wishing to produce in and around Asia. Our productions have so far brought helped us gain production experience in the following countries:
We hope to bring our creative and production expertise to all interested in exploring ideas with us, and jointly developing subjects with universal appeal through a unique Asian perspective.
